Verification on Spotify is done through Spotify for Artists. Here’s how:
Go to Spotify for Artists.
Click "Claim Your Profile" and log in with a Spotify account (if you don’t already have one, you’ll need to create one).
Search for your artist name and select your profile.
Confirm your identity — Spotify may ask for links to your social media or record label to ensure it’s really you.
Once approved, you’ll see the blue verification checkmark on your profile.
How long does verification take?
Usually a few days, but it can sometimes take up to 2 weeks depending on Spotify’s review
What if I run into issues?
If you experience any problems during the verification process, please contact us directly and we’ll assist you.
Why isn’t my new release showing up on my Spotify artist profile?
This can happen for a few reasons:
The release was delivered under the wrong artist name or profile (common if other artists share the same name).
Spotify hasn’t finished processing the release yet (it can take up to 24–48 hours after the official release date).
Your distributor linked the release to a different profile.
How do I fix it?
First, check with your distributor to confirm that the release was delivered to the correct artist profile.
If the release went to the wrong profile, your distributor can request a correction through Spotify.
You can also claim your artist profile via Spotify for Artists
What if the issue isn’t resolved?
If your release still isn’t showing up or you’re unsure how to proceed, please contact us directly and we’ll help get it sorted.
My release ended up on another artist’s Spotify page — what should I do?
Don’t worry, this happens sometimes, especially when artists share similar names. Here’s how to fix it:
Contact us — let us know the release is showing on the wrong profile. We’ll submit a request to Spotify to move it to the correct page.
Claim your artist profile on Spotify for Artists. This gives you control and helps avoid mix-ups in the future.
Request a profile separation — if needed, we can work with Spotify to separate your music from another artist’s catalog.
How long does it take to fix?
Usually within a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on Spotify’s review process.
What if it’s still not fixed?
If the issue continues, please contact us and we’ll make sure it gets resolved.
I have more than one Spotify artist profile. Can they be merged into one?
Yes — if you have multiple profiles with music released under the same artist name, they can be merged.
How do I request a merge?
Contact us — let us know which profiles need to be merged.
We’ll submit a request to Spotify to combine them into one official artist page.
Once complete, all of your releases will appear under the same profile, with a single set of followers and stats.
How long does a merge take?
Usually a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on Spotify’s review and processing time.
What if my profiles cannot be merged?
If Spotify finds that the profiles belong to different artists with the same name, they won’t merge them. In that case, we can help request a new unique artist profile for your releases.
What is a Spotify URI?
A Spotify URI (Uniform Resource Indicator) is a unique identifier for your artist profile, album, or track. It’s often required when submitting music for playlists or support.
How do I find my Spotify URI?
Open Spotify (desktop app is best).
Go to your artist profile, album, or track.
Click on the “…” (More Options) button.
Hover over Share and then select Copy Spotify URI.
On some versions, you may need to hold down Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac) while hovering over Share to see the URI option.
The URI will look something like this: spotify:artist:1Xyo4u8uXC1ZmMpatF05PJ.
Can I find it on mobile?
Mobile apps usually only provide Spotify links, not URIs. For URIs, we recommend using the desktop app.
What if I can’t find it?
If you’re having trouble locating your URI, please contact us and we’ll provide it for you.
Can I upload my lyrics directly to Spotify?
No — Spotify doesn’t allow artists to upload lyrics directly. Instead, Spotify uses a third-party provider called Musixmatch to display lyrics.
How do I get my lyrics on Spotify through Musixmatch?
Go to Musixmatch and create an account.
Claim your artist profile on Musixmatch (you’ll need to verify your identity as the artist).
Once verified, you can add and sync your lyrics to your songs.
After approval, your lyrics will automatically appear on Spotify.
How long does it take for lyrics to show on Spotify?
Usually a few days after you submit them, but it can take longer depending on Musixmatch’s review process.
What if I have issues with Musixmatch?
If you run into any problems or your lyrics still aren’t showing, please contact us and we’ll help you resolve it.
Can I choose in advance which artist profile my release will appear on?
Yes — this is actually the best way to avoid problems like releases ending up on the wrong profile.
How do I do this?
When you send us your release, provide your Spotify Artist URI and any other store profile links (Apple Music, Deezer, etc.).
We’ll include this information in the delivery to each platform.
This ensures your release lands on the correct artist page right from the start.
What if I forget to provide my profile links?
Don’t worry — if a release ends up on the wrong page, we can request a correction. But providing the correct URIs before release is the fastest and cleanest solution.
Still unsure?
If you’re not sure how to find your URIs or which links to send, please contact us and we’ll guide you through the process.
